ABOUT ME

Putting My Experience
to Work

My husband, Scott and I moved to Firestone in 2015 when I retired.  We have two children and four grandchildren.

I have a degree in Accounting and was licensed as a CPA in Colorado beginning in 1992; my license is currently inactive.

My career encompassed public accounting, human resources, and management of a wide range of employee benefit plans.

The last 24 years of my career were in Colorado.  I was employed by the Colorado School of Mines Foundation, Johns Manville, Ball Corporation and CoBank.

Currently, I am the president of the Neighbors Point HOA and treasurer for the Carbon Valley Lutheran's Women's group.

I know how to get things done.  During my career I worked with federal and state regulations, legal and financial documents, dealt with various entities, vendors, boards and corporate personnel from senior executives to entry level employees.

In March 2022, Firestone celebrated the Neighbors Point Park ribbon cutting.  It took four plus years for the park to become a reality.  Myself, Arlys Carlson and a core group of residents partnered with Town management and the Firestone Board to bring this park to our neighborhood.  This project required coordination with Town management, communication with Trustee liaisons, addressing the Board of Trustees periodically at Board meetings, updating the Neighbors Point residents regarding the status of the project, as well as communicating to residents planning meetings for input into the park design.

The neighborhood HOA projects and the development of the Neighbors Point Park have provided me the opportunity to partner with Town management and the Board of Trustees.  These experiences have shown me that collaboration between the community, Town staff and the Board can provide positive outcomes.
